The Morningside Residents Association was inaugurated in July 2024. Our mission is to foster a sense of unity, promote the well-being of all residents, and ensure the safety of our neighborhood through coordinated community efforts.

The 5 D's of Security
Follow these essential security tips to keep your home and family safe:
- Deter – Security elements strategically placed and deployed will cause the would-be perpetrator to move to an easier target. E.g., electric fence, alarms (to be set, otherwise they don’t help) cameras, palisade fencing with vision to the outside street so nowhere to be concealed
- Detect – Early detection helps the resident to prepare more thoroughly and notifies the perpetrator that he is/could be seen. E.g. Movement sensors, beams, cameras with thermal imaging.
- Delay – Challenges to an intrusion will delay his/her access into your property and house. Security gates, electric fencing, burglar bars are typical examples of delay tactics.
- Deny – Do not allow entrance to anyone and ensure doors and gates are locked and secured.
- Detain – We do not discourage the use of Security Service providers but they only respond to situations and can only detain the perpetrator if they are there in time. Break-ins can be carried out in less that 5 minutes, with the typical response time of armed response being 6 minutes.
